Rent - The Final Performance Filmed Live on BroadwayI was home for the majority of the week last week sick as you know. I had too much time to watch movies...which gives me a chance to catch up on things that I've been wanting to see. Yesterday, I watched this movie and I was just blown away.
I have seen RENT 5 times on stage and this music changed my life when I was in high school. It revolutionized musicals in the its message and overall story-line. There really isn't another show like it.
This past fall, the show after a 12 year run has closed its doors and is no longer being performed on Broadway. They did create a DVD of its very last show with an incredible cast.
They invited former cast members to see their final performance, with an amazing final performance of "Seasons of Love."
I am so saddened that this show had to come to an end, but I am SO glad that they have created this DVD. It takes a really intimate look at what the stage performance was really like. I highly suggest this video over the film that was made a few years ago.
PLEASE when you all get a chance, netflix, rent, itunes this movie; you won't regret it.
